1) have a project on my desk on a Wednesday
and
2) remember to take a photo (in daylight) and post it on here!
So what is WOYWW? It stands for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and is a fast growing institution among crafters started by Julia over at The Stamping Ground in which crafters from all over the world post images of what is (or isn't!) going on in their creative spaces. I came across WOYWW about 6 months ago whilst having a lazy Sunday blog hop and decided I would love to get involved. It is so much fun popping in to other crafty folks' creative spaces and seeing what's going on in Craft World! So, welcome to my craft room / salon de stash / dusty garret - come on in, grab a chair and make yourself at home - I'll go and put the kettle on...
I'm currently working on a project for the Sunday Stampers Challenge over at Ink on My Fingers (link in the side bar if you're interested). My copy of the latest Craft Stamper magazine dropped through the letterbox this morning with SO MANY gorgeous projects in it that I was inspired to start work on this tag straight away! At this stage I've only just started on the background but if you're interested in seeing the finished project it has to be posted by 21:00 (GMT) on Saturday 2nd February so do pop back - blimey that's put the pressure on to get it finished!.
So what is on my workdesk? Well... I'm seeing a lot of Tim Holtz influence there! There are Distress Inks and blending tool, an Alterations Movers and Shapers tag die, Ideaology charm clips and Muse Tokens as well as some Paper Artsy and Prima stamps, chipboard butterflies, my heat gun and of course my Craft Stamper mag.
My desk is quite tidy at the moment as I am making a real effort to try and clear up between projects, mind you - you can't see the floor behind the table in this shot!!! (Ooops!)
I'll try and do some close ups next time around - I'm new to this WOYWW thing so still getting the hang of the do's and don'ts! Hope you come by again soon.
I'm relatively new too, but I don't think there are any hard fast rules! Looks like a beautiful creation in the works. Love Tim Holtz goodies! ~Rebekah #140

What beautiful space you have! love the colors in the tag.....you know I ask this question all the time and no one ever gives me an answer...maybe I should blog it next Wednesday. Here I am again, I am going to be bold and ask you. What do you do with tags? I have to get over this......you see, I usually make something and give away to someone, hoping to make there day a bit better. So, it's little gifts, cards things I craft.....I see these lovely tags, but have no idea how to use them. May I ask you, what you are going to do with that lovely tag, once you are finished? Do they all go on scrapbook pages? Or do you put it on a card?
ReplyDeleteI bet this is the craziest post you have ever seen! I think of tags as journaling papers and I never scrapbook....I just have a block here and trying to get over it...HA.
love the colors in your tag and totally with ya about Tim holtz

Hi Robin, I understand your dilemma completely as I felt exactly the same way you do - I'd seen so many beautiful tags (Hels Sheridan's in particular (If Tim Holtz is the Duke of Distress Hels is the Queen of Tags!) You can check out her art at Ink on my Fingers www.pinkleart.blogspot.com) and then I did some blog hopping and came across Tammy Tutterow's blog and this image of her tag display in her studio http://tammytutterow.typepad.com/photos/my_studio/studio29.html.
DeleteI now have two "washing lines" hanging from hooks screwed high in the walls in my craft room with my very small but growing collection of tags clipped on with mini pegs (clothes pins).
(Initially I display them on easels on my storage units and then when I create a new one I hang the old one on the line)
I hope this offers you a solution as tags are great projects to complete, a bit more room for playing than an ATC but not too big if you want a quick creative fix!
Hugs MM x
Hi Maisie! Such a clean and neet desk. Hooray for you in cleaning after each project! Looks like you have a lovely and large space to creat in, great storage.
