WOYWW #224

Hello fellow Deskers

I almost didn't post today as I had a dental appointment (boo hiss) this morning, but I've managed to get some crafting done in between a longer than expected appointment and the crazy school runs. So, what is on my workdesk today?

I'm working on my G entry for The Craft Barn's altered dictionary challenge - any guesses what my entry is going to be? (My dictionary is a French/English one but the word is similar in both languages.)

If you look quarter of the way down the left hand side of the photo (above) you can see a felt owl hanging from the lamp stand... I thought it would be fun to take an "owl's eye" view of my desk - so here it is...

Hmm, have you picked up that I quite like owls?

I must say a big THANK YOU to you all for your support last week when I was having a Tim Tag meltdown. I haven't thrown away my "failed" tags and will get round to re-loving them at some point but I thought you might like to see how my tag turned out..

It came good in the end (after I'd switched to Dylusions rather than DS!)

And finally... C (aka Hammers) here are pics of my two bird house pincushions as promised...

(The spider's webs are a throw back to my school days - I used to doodle webs and spiders on everything - weird because I HATE spiders!)

Thanks for visiting and thanks to Julia for hosting (if you're not already a desker you're missing out - seriously!)

I don't know if I'm going to make the Alpha/Dictionary Challenge this time - the days just seem to fly by, leaving no time behind! 2. Love the pincushions especially the one with the web... seem to remember my sister had and still has a great dislike of spiders.

On the dictionary front is it Grandma/ Grandmere???? Never was good at French and haven't improved with years. Will have to wait and see what other guesses arrive on your blog.

    Happy inventing X X Flo

  3. Yay, you posted! I thought that I'd missed you earlier on...not that I'm stalking you or anything (!!) but I particularly enjoy your posts :-)
I love those bird house pincushions, the details are fab. The little spiders web is brilliant - I don't mind spiders at all - and the rambling rose on the cottage is really pretty :-)
And we'll done for rescuing the Tag..it looks great!

  5. Hello Maisie - OMG I LOVE THE PINCUSHIONS!!! Thank you for sharing, they are gorgeous, the detail is superb. Thanks for swinging by earlier, glad you like the stamp storage..Hubby encouraged me to do it right! As we have been sharing pics, why don't you send me your postal address, so I can include you in 40 for 40? Your tag turned out wonderfully...we all have meltdowns and then when the beautiful thing is at last finished we wonder where the meltdown came from :) Cx #42

  16. Hi Maisie
Your Tim tag looks wonderful I love the colours you have used they work so well together.
Your pin cushions are the sweetest things I have seen I love them and they would look so good sitting next to someone's sewing machines.
Have a great day today and a wonderful weekend

  17. I love your owl-view photo - great idea! I am writing an alphabeth-related art journal workshop right now, so dictionaries have my attention right away. A French/English word with a G?? You have me puzzling now... Happy, belated, woyww and a hug from Holland. Marit #79

  18. Adore the details on the pin cushions - especially the webs. And the Timmy Tag is SUBERB - sentiment is so appropriate. Yes I think Dylusions would have been a great alternative to the Distress Inks I used. Now just to work out your word for "G". Thanks for the visit this week BJ #81

  19. Beautiful little pin cushions, they're seriously cute! Love the tag, glad it worked out and I'm sure you'll think of something to do with the failed ones. Can't think what you "g" word is, my first thought was garden, but then I remembered jardin starts with a j! Ha, ha!

  20. Those pincushions could not be more adorable--I'm pinning them to Pinterest! LOL. Of course, if anyone clicks on the picture it will come back to your blog. Your embroidery is really pretty--did you just design it yourself? Your tag is really gorgeous too. Happy WOYWW (still making the rounds)! Sandy Leigh #33

  22. Hi Maisie. Oooh, I feel your pain - been spending some time in the dentist chair myself, lately. Much better to be crafting and stitching! Love your sweet little pin cushions. And your spiders and webs are so much cuter than the real thing! What an original touch! Hope you weekend is sunny and fair. Cathy

  23. Your blog is so pretty, I like how the page scrolls but the roses remain. I love the tag and the pincushions bird houses are adorable. I need a cuter on...I have a tiny strawberry I stick pins in to have available to poke the glossy accents tip...that's forever getting clogged. Is that a pink side kick???nest to the cuttlebug.I missed most of the posts after mine...so I came back. Be well Carole #92
