WOYWW #218

Happy Wednesday to all my lovely visitors. If you're hopping over from The Stamping Ground you know all about what's going on here. If not you're missing out on SOOOOO much fun, go here to find out how to get involved.

I'm spending Happy Time in my craft room this week. The Junior Moonshines are at Grandma's so I'm indulging in some craft ther-happy. (d'you see what I did there? therapy - ther-happy?)

Anyway, on with the show...

This is what my desk looked like at close of play yesterday - just before scooting off to AJ class. (I've taken a "long shot" to show you the tactical use of the floor in my crafting endeavours).

Mostly my desk has the aftermath of my August Tim Tag which I'm hoping to post tomorrow.
Speaking of which - if you happen to glance to your right you will see "a proud moment" on my sidebar >>>>>>>>>>

I'm really thrilled to have been picked as a July winner of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2013. You can see my tag here if you're interested. This was only my third Tim Tag so I was really surprised to see my name on the list. I'd like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who has left me a lovely comment on my win, your support and kind wishes are very much appreciated.

Finally, I wanted to share with you a couple of pics of the fabulous faux batik technique we learned at AJ class last night. This is achieved with a heat embossing resist and Dylusions. (I have then over stamped the leaf design with black archival to make it pop a bit more and added some gold metallic highlights). These pictures were taken under electric light to show you the fantastic shimmer effect this technique leaves behind.

We had great fun playing with this technique, which works equally well through a stencil, I think you'll agree that the results are amazing.

That's all from me, Catch you later!

  31. 1st thank you for stopping by my desk and leaving such a nice comment. :D Congrats on your Tim Holtz Tag Win. I think it's awesome. You should take out a full page ad. I would. No, seriously, I would. I so love your craft room. If it were mine, I'd never come out of it. No seriously, I wouldn't. I'm not sure if you are in the US or not, but if you are, here is a FYI… joann.com has the Distress Ink pads and Stains on sale for $2.99 each. I sign up for their newsletter and will get codes for free shipping or 15% off my order, etc. I just bought like 6 or 7 ink pads to work collecting all the colors. Congrats again. Happy Hump Day.
