WOYWW #220

Hello and welcome to another Wednesday and a whistle stop tour of the world's crafty workdesks.

As ever we are grateful to Ms Dunnit over at The Stamping Ground for hosting this amazing event. Pop on over there to find out how to join in.

To business... and what is on my workdesk today?

I'm afraid it is back to work time here at Moonshine Manor. I've been putting it off all year but the Christmas Craft Fair season will soon be upon us so I've dusted off the old sewing needles, and am nose to the craft mat making stuff. (Until I have a new Tim Tag or dictionary page to do any way!)

So today you can see: lots of embroidery floss, some die cut felt shapes, beads and buttons, the original jar of hearts (not sure Christina Perri had this in mind when she wrote her song), my trusty rotary cutter, quilting rule and my pin (needle) cushion which is currently sporting some very fetching scrapbooking pins which I need to make a book for.

So that's all from me - back to work - those robins don't make themselves you know...

  1. Hi Masie
Ooh there's the C word! I've usually started thinking about what I am going to do for my cards but I haven't this year yet. Must get a move on. Love all your sewing bits and the robins sound good, please share when you've made them. I envy people who can sew, I am useless!
    Have a happy week

  4. Wowee nearly 'that time of year' so soon. What is it now 117 days left to the 'Grand Opening'.

Better start thinking( that's a problem to start with).

Have a good week with the stitching and hope you some inspiration. By the way do you make 'Holly leaves'?

  21. Wow, prepping for a Christmas fair sounds like fun. Unfortunately, I can't sew a lick. I can't wait to see what you make to sell! I have a few craft fairs here in the Fall/Winter that I attend and stock up on holiday gifts for people. Love giving ornaments and handmade stuff! Winnie#89

  23. I think I need to ease myself gently into the 'C' season this year- time to make a start. Well, I've thought about it, does that count? Love your desk, Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #50 xx

  24. Hah, your desk looks identical to mine! I've had loads of bits and pieces strewn across the surface recently. Though I did have a bit of a tidy up this week! How many craft fairs do you do? I used to do them but have up in the end. I play in a brass band, you see, and often the fair dates clashed with band gigs (and you can imagine how busy we are at Chr*****s time...and no, I can't say that word yet!). So something had to go and it was the fairs....sigh.
    Thanks for dropping by already,
    Hugs, LLJ 63 xx

  26. Me again, again!! I play the E flat Bass (tuba) as its know in brass banding. It's all my son's fault! He started in the training section and after a couple of weeks sitting there, the MD said 'You're musical, have a go'. So after being told I had enough air to blow a cornet straight (!!!) I went on bass, being a tall, strapping gal with a good pair of lungs......cough..... Within three months I was in the senior band but I play piano and cello as well, so have a good ear for pitch. Having played in orchestras and sung in choir, I can honestly tell you that I love the brass band best...there's a real camaraderie in banding. If there's a local band to you, go find them! Brass players are apparently quite outgoing and always the first to the bar.... I couldn't possibly comment ;-)

  27. Hi, thanks so much for your visit earlier :-) but I intended to comment anyway ... the stuff looks very pretty, but to be honest, I don't want to think ahead as far as Christmas. I'm enjoying the warmth even more since I got frostbites last Winter :-/ Have a great time crafting, Suzanne x

  39. Hi Maisie! Your desk always looks so neat and productive! When I get going things get stacked on top of one another and every available surface is covered with things I have gotten out and haven't put away. It's a little too scary to photograph! :)

I look forward to seeing your Craft Fair creations. Also, I have been watching for the J Nutting doll to reappear. What you were doing looked so cute - did she find a home on one of your pages?

I would be flattered if you found my book worth 'borrowing a page from'. :) And, yes, creating for the pure joy is really the best! Why is it that what we learn as children becomes so strongly ingrained - even though, at my age, that is now just a fraction of my life!

Have a lovely day and a lovely weekend! Hugs, Cathy
